Yao at the top of the key against the zone defense has been very interesting. So far he has gotten 2 wide open 3's for his teammates.

Gasol had two great plays against Yao. Yao looks tired.

The condition, still the biggest problem. I don't see great improvment here.

First half is over. yao started off really slow on the boards, but began to dominate the glass. He even gave a good swing of the elbows. Also, Pau is still a whiney b****. Every play, begging for a call.

Spain is just a much better team and the zone defense they played the whole half really slowed Yao down. Except for the putback which he should have dunked the ball, Yao is ok. I love the last basket he made under triple teams.

Chinese guards has their own problems, but Yao has to be more aggressive. Because his condition, everytime he gets the ball, I wish he can shoot it. Spain double teamed him, so what, he had nice positions a couple times, but he always chose to pass untill Del Harris asked him to shoot.

Condition and aggressiveness, two problems could haunt Yao for a long long time.

    My 1st Half Notes:

1.) Pau whines too damn much. Every trip up the floor he complains to the refs.

2.) Yao playing very effectively, but still condition is a huge problem. Probably showed more of him in the backcourt crunching over taking a breather than the actual game. But Yao is obviously the best player and most impactful player on the floor. See's double and triple-teams...unlike Pau - who just gets guarded one on one.

3.) Someone needs to shave. That's too much hair for even two men. Hope that guy makes Yao take back his '6 month' statement.

All the Chinese players other than Bateer need strength training.
Look how easily they got bumped out of position. Even they were in posiotn, they still could not hold on to the rebounds.

The international games has no TV timeouts and that's a big issue.

Well, basically every quality shot his team has gotten has been created by him in some way. He passed up a close shot to a teammate who passed up a wide open three so he could travel.

It's stupid to shoot over the double or triple teams everytime.

Mr. YiJian Lian disappointed me, only 2 pts from him. That airball was really really ugly.

If he is only 16 turning 17, OK, I can still live with it. But Collins said his age could be somewhere between 17 - 21.
