I think the most likely turn of events is this: nobody locked out nobody. They probably had some argument, the girl went to the room and felt asleep. KPJ didn’t have his keycard and ask the hotel for a new keycard, which is common. I'm now wondering what took KPJ to stop the strangulation? Because I think it matters a lot in determining the correct charges. If he stopped because security stepped in and forcebly removed him, then that probably is an attempted murder charge because the assumption is he would complete the strangulation to completion which would be her death. If he let go voluntarily then it probably just assault and strangulation charges.
It's not rocket science. KPJ most likely paid for the room and coerced the front desk into letting him gain entrance. I'd imagine the Millennium hotel will be getting sued in the not too distant future and some security personnel are most definitely getting fired (if they haven’t been already).
I think the girl refused to open the door for him because he was out partying at 6 am and she was pissed. He probably lost or didn't bring his key card He likely banged on the door for while and then went to the security for another key card, opened the door and beat the crap out of her.
It really is difficult to determine the culpability of the security staff. Maybe they had no clue why he was locked out initially and just assumed he lost the key card.
I am not getting this. I understand that the NBA investigates player off-court conduct and determines suspensions, but they don't control roster decisions. Would we impair their disciplinary authority by cutting him? That didn't seem to be an issue with Miles Bridges, who got a suspension without an active contract.
