I shall go on record with this: I do not understand what would possess any sentient human being to decide (it is a choice, after all) to become a Cowboys fan.
What ever the score is its just preseason. I think everyone here can honestly say the Boyz have a much better shot at the playoffs than the Texans. We have a better D than you and a much better coach. In fact the Boyz are the original Texas team. Texans will always be #2 in Texas.
Yeah, the defense is likely better than ours...but only marginally so. The defense was terrible last year due to bad injuries. The year before then it was pretty good (especially for an expansion team). We have all those players back and healthy this season (fingers crossed) plus some good young talent. I don't see the Cowboys as being heads and shoulders above the Texans as you seem to indicate.

I wouldn't say "a much better shot at the playoffs". The Cowboys of last year were a couple of lucky bounces away from being an 8-8 team. While they do have a better shot at the playoffs, the gap is not as wide as you are imagining. I think I will remind you that you have Vinny Testaverde at quarterback, and 3.7 ypc Eddie George. I think I know someone else that averaged 3.7 ypc for the Cowboys, his name was Troy Hambrick. If you think the "boys" are going to run away with things this year you are mistaken.
Not to be rude, but at what point do you stop calling the Texans an expansion team? Three years? 5 years?
I just got 2 50-yard line seats, 10 rows behind the Texans bench, for tonight's game! I'm taking a buddy who is a diehard Cowboys fan. I can't wait to ridicule him, with the masses, as the Texans whoop ass! This is gonna be fun!
I kind of agree with the 8-8 thing, but I guess that what people mean when they say Parcells can get you an extra win or two just by himself. Everyone knows it was the aura of Parcells that made the Giants kicker kick the ball out of bounds. BTW, the Cowboys are working that guy out to compete with Cundiff. Talk about a strange turn of events. IMO, this team is much better than last year's team, barring injuries...although that kind of goes out the window since Woodson is already hurt. Everybody already said QC was the worst starting QB in the league, and although I personally didn't think he was that bad, we shouldn't be losing much with Vinny. In fact, maybe with some help from Parcells and others, he may play pretty well. Eddie George did put up similiar YPC as Troy, and I'm not thrilled with him taking a toss to the right with 10 yds to go, but he is our biggest back, IIRC, and he should be able to at get those 3 yds most of the time, especially during those 3rd and 2 situations. Our RB unit as a whole is MUCH better with JJ and possibly Reshard Lee adding some breakaway type runs. Richie Anderson will also probably get some time there as well. I like this unit much better than Troy Hambrick and Cason. Our WR's, TE's, and O-line are all either around the same as last year, at worse, or better than last year. Our defense, to me, seems much better, although the Woodson injury worries me. The pass rush with the D-line should be better with Wiley. The LBs have always been strong but now have some younger guys who seem to want some action. Our DB are pretty solid, although this depends on Woodson. Newman seems stronger but still fast, and we have a few guys competing for the other CB spot, and the leader for that spot, Pete Hunter, looks like he could be pretty good there with his combination of size and speed. He just needs some reps, but if he fails, there are some other CBs on the team who would take advantage of that. And Roy Williams...yeah...he's pretty good. Our punting should help the team a lot. I'm sure all the Cowboy fans cringed when Toby Gowin would punt the ball, shanking it. Now, we didn't get a pro punter, but the team is working out some good prospects, one of which seems to have good leg strength and an unusual spin on the ball which throws off the return man. All he has to do is punt for an avg more than 39 yds to improve that area, and maybe cause a few return men to bobble the ball. A few yards here and there can change the game, and punting was a big problem last year. I know, I went into a big summary of several apsects of the team when I could have just stuck with a sentence or two, but I just get a little angry when everyone counts us out. Everyone seems to be jumping on the Redskins wagon, who just went out and bought some big name players, IMO. They seem to put the Cowboys out of the race, but this team is a lot better than last year's team. Maybe they could go 8-8 and be "better" but they seem to be on the right track. I don't know if they could be on the Eagles, but I think they could make a return to the playoffs. Oh yeah...how do the teams coached by Parcells do in their 2nd year? This is more of a "me defending the Cowboys" post and not a "me defending the fact that the Cowboys are 100 times more likely to make the playoffs that the Texans." I personally like the Texans and would like to see how they perform this year.
He only said expansion team in the post when referring to our first year. I think it is acceptable to call them an expansion team in year one, don't you? (also the year they embarrased the Cowgirls by the way.)
So if the Texans win tonight it's embarassing the Cowboys, and if they lose it's "just a preseason game" right? Such is the way with Texans fans on this board!
LOL, yes you're right, although just to be fair I'm sure there's some Cowboy fans that would feel the same. Soooooo lets get everyone in agreement, both Cowboys and Texans....is this going to be a win against the "other" Texas team OR WHAT?! I mean this is braggin' rights, correct?!
