He's slowish while rolling (mostly scrambling) to his left while still looking to throw as a RHQB, that happened about thrice. Not surprising.

    He looked plenty quick/fast/wiggly/escapable/whatever otherwise

What were the raw numbers of pass dropbacks, pressure vs no?

Pitre was coughing up blood on the sidelines after he went out. Bruised lung makes sense

    Hope he's ok

    Stroud showed flashes.

He could have and should have easily thrown for 300 yds if not for those damn holds.

    Too many penalties killing drives.

OLine was ATROCIOUS in pass protection.

Offense did not lean on the run enough.

Defense looked okay first half but in the red zone, they are swiss cheese.

Will be happy once the actual OLine is on the field.

Once they fix the penalties, they should be okay.

No INT’s by Stroud was good considering he was not afraid to throw in the middle of the field.

Next week I'm hoping we beat the Colts, the Chargers beat the Titans, and the Chiefs beat the Jags. That would tie us all up in the standings.

Yeah, he's never gonna be Mike Vick, but he certainly wasn't a sitting duck against pass rush. He looks plenty mobile where its most important.

If anything he needs to learn in the NFL you usually need take your incomplete pass ASAP instead of thinking you are gonna be able to escape defenders. He took a lot of costly sacks today where I thought he could have gotten rid of the ball.

Yeah, also needs to learn how to slide. Wasn’t paying super close attention but I don’t recall him sliding and he was going head first on some runs.

Listened to 610 and watched Gameday. Overall, Texans did not sound embarrassing and the Astros took care of business. A good day.

Tough sledding for Stroud who I thought played a decent game considering the lack of pass protection. The Texans still have a lot of work to do offensively

This, the way he eluded pressure while still reading the field, the way he got the ball out quick to his first read when there were was unblocked pressure, you can just tell he is going to be good.

IMG_7459.jpeg To me these are words of a leader. I’m not disappointed in CJ’s performance one bit today. First NFL game, I didn’t expect much. I think he’s going to be just fine.

This team is on the right path finally, it’s just going to take some time.

CJ probably had the best debut of the 3 rookies. Yes, he didn't have a TD, but he didn't have an INT. He also would have had over 300 yards if it weren't for a few unfortunate penalties.

We all should be very happy.

Yeah, him copping to holding the ball too long and not just throwing it away when he had the chance is good to see.

Also needs to remember to slide.

I know that speed of the game hit him like a truck once the game started, but it will slow down.

I like that his throws in the middle were needle precise…even on the drops….I just hope he becomes more mindful of not hanging his receivers up for hard hits; but thats in due time.
