fyi. Bev averaged 38 in high school. but again he understood role in the league and how he could maximize his impact on playing winning basketball
Bev didn't crush your offense like brooks does though, bev was just a standard bad offensive player, not a destroyer
That's fair, but I think bracing for a "long year" is a little presumptuous. Dillon, FVV and Ime are already head and shoulders better than anything we've had here for a while in terms of grown ups. EGo last two years wasn't on FVVs level and definitely not defensively what Brooks is so essentially the rooks were learning from no one. Brooks is more "antics" than I'd prefer and I hope Ime can reign him in. I'll see how frustrating he actually is but anything beyond 30 wins will already be an improvement. Our Summer League team would've probably beaten last years squad with how well it was run.
Dillon and FVV are alright for a middling organization but for an ambitious organization..... Anything below secondary option Jaylen Brown is just on a hamster wheel. So i am not really mad about this, just realistic.
One of Jabari, Jalen, Amen, Cam or Sengun will be better than Jaylen. Probably three of them will end up better than Jaylen Brown.
All I am saying, for all the loud fanfare and words Tilman has been throwing around, Phase 2 and Phase 3. It is all BS, dude has never brought a superstar to this town who was 25-28 fully in his prime. Arguably not even a younger All Star not named Old Harden. Not talking about potential, perennial All Star right now in front of our faces. Fred Van Vleet just reflects what this organization is capable of doing, just reaching mediocrity.
Our franchise player is currently up in his hotel room watching Jeffrey Dahmer documentaries and preparing for tomorrows game.
I like his confidence and all but he's most definitely not the best perimeter defender in the world. Got annihilated by Bogdan Bogdanovic today.
He is alright, better than I thought but 82 games are still a pretty lengthy season. And the NBA has even better scorers than Bogdanovic on a nightly basis. He is built like a linebacker so his speed is not up to the task of guarding quicker players, and sometimes also not able to guard skilled players, we knew that already.
