Yeah, drugs start off like that too, with a kick.

But I think he is a decent scorer but he tended to overdo it.

I think he is caught in the state of thinking he should be the man but he knows he is not allowed and the public expects him just to defend and be efficient.

Which is the state of Purgatory.....the Rockets know it well.

In the last five years since his rookie season, he has never had a true shooting percentage above 51.5%. League average is right around 56%. Among qualified players, he had the third-worst true shooting percentage last season, the 22nd-worst the year before that, and the 14th-worst the year before that one.

He has been a bad, inefficient offensive player throughout his career. Whether that's due to shot selection, something about his role on the Grizz, or some other reason, it doesn't change the fact that he's been near the bottom of the league on efficiency over and over again throughout his career.

Maybe the change of scenery will help. Maybe Udoka will be able to fix his shot selection. Maybe Ben Sullivan will work some magic and he'll become a better jump shooter. Stranger things have happened. But up to this point, he has been a bad offensive player, and that's just reality.

The combination of poor efficiency with high usage is what makes Brooks such a detrimental offensive player. However, he has only ever shot more than 10 shots a game under Taylor Jenkins, who preaches for all his players to be aggressive on offense. And even then, Brooks only broke above 10 shots a game when one of Ja/Bane/jjj were out of the lineup.

No one here is deluded to think Brooks will shoot 55% from 3 next year magically just because of 5 games in Fiba. The optimism stems from the role that he is playing and shot selection on the Canada team, which can be replicated on the Rockets. We were told that no way will Brooks accept taking a lesser offensive role than jacking up 15 shots a game. Clearly that’s not the case.

There’s a very simple fix to his offensive game: just take fewer shots except for catch and shoot 3’s. If Udoka can get him to do that, it will dramatically improve his impact on the court and open up good shots for better scorers.

I think with FVV and Sengun on the court simultaneously, Brooks will get easier shots than he’s gotten in the past.

    Fingers crossed.

And the relevance to some people's love affair with an undersized forward in a debate where people are willfully ignoring the statistical performance of a player for recent anecdotal evidence is?

I'd say a much more relevant comparable debate is Russell Westbrook or Ben Simmons. Or even Shane Battier or PJ Tucker, back in the day.

Rockets need the FIBA version of Dillon Brooks
The FIBA version of Dillon Brooks is exactly who the Houston Rockets need next season.

Overall, if you look at Brooks play during the tournament, you have to be pleased. As mentioned earlier, he is averaging double digits while shooting a blistering 53.8 from three-point range on 7-for-13 shooting. Yes, there are some risks in bringing in Brooks as at times, he can be volatile, and you are tied to him on a four-year guarantee deal, but if the Rockets get this version of Dillon Brooks, it will be money well spent.

I remember when CF wanted Olympic Melo as well. My advice is to temper expectations.

More like unrequited loves because they will never get the love back from those players.

Luka has 17 on 50% from 3. In 16 minutes.

    Just a side note.

Good game overall but unnecessary ejection when Slovenia is not competitive in the 2nd half.

That’s too bad. I hope brooks can keep the hard nosed play up and don’t even care if he jaws at the opposing players, but I hope he leaves the refs alone when playing for us.
