Another California town mad about making homeless people have a homeless shelter, not here breh!

    It's similar to those nutcases that liked the idea of tent people being integrated as "part of the community" until the tent people started doing tent people stuff and then it's not a great idea anymore to them lol

    To get rid of homeless people you need to get the root of the problem and the majority of it are drug related or mental illness.
    Sticking people in a motel solves nothing

    hard decisions have to be made but they don’t do it so the problem is getting uncontrollable

    fwiw, Milbrae is one of the more conservative suburbs in the SF bay area

    this la quinta hotel is in the run down part of Milbrae, CA
    The project is part of the Homekey state program, launched during the pandemic by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
    The program’s purpose is to remove "unhoused" people off the street; most of these "unhouse" people work in the bay area,

    They don’t treat the root causes and it doesn’t matter how many hotel rooms they have . They can’t manage it if they don’t stop the drug trade or put the mentally ill in institutions

    Plus I give it maybe 48 hours and the motel is going to be trashed beyond livability, who is going to maintain it? What about safety?
