When you sit two +.800 OPS hitters (top 25 hitters in the American League) and you lose a game by 1 run or 2 runs -- then the decision to sit those players is costly. This is how Dusty is mismanaging. The margin of victory in MLB is so slim... that even small decision-making errors, repeated consistently over time, can cost the team 5-6 wins... in a division that probably will come down to the last 3 games of the season. Bottom line: Dusty's incompetence matters.
