Since this forum is large, I may have missed it, but I don't recall you expressing a stance against courts' sentencing and prosecutor overreach prior to Trump's presidency. If this is a position you held before Trump, do share your postings.

BLM isn’t a group that tried to overturn an election violently. Totally different crimes. Yes burning someone alive (if tried as attempted murder or murder) would typically fall under a harsher sentencing guideline than insurrection… although the constitution is pretty harsh on this crime if it’s considered treasonous… which I wouldn’t technically classify it as but it’s in the ballpark. You are literally attacking America. Not lightweight stuff dude.

Regardless it’s best to look at the crime someone was charged with and look at the sentencing guidelines. If something goes way out of bounds on the guidelines come talk to me then.

On the other hand, I do think a lot of fringe types IRL create self-fulfilling prophecies, like the guy in Utah with his guns, fantasizing about the government coming to get him and then he threatens violent action online... and you know what... the government came to get him, just like in his premonition.

A person can wall themselves in their bubble so tight that there's no way to escape but through the worst outcome of their fantasy, unfortunately. Have seen it, in microcosm, in the workplace too.
