I am already ROFL at the typical players in here that have already started with the "if you don't wear a mask you're a selfish, murdering, a-hole" rhetoric.

If you seriously still believe that basic masking does a damn thing you are hopelessly stupid. You will essentially be wearing an "I am stupid" garment if you walk around with one.

    Have you dweebs learned nothing?

Those tweets make it sound like people are shutting down schools for political reasons. I don’t think that is the case. It’s hard to teach students in class if many teachers are too sick to come to work. Not everything is political.

The pandemic is over. COVID will be around for the rest of time.

Yes just like the cold and the flu, Covid will be with us. So why there are signs that the doofus in charge can’t wait to mess with us again like they did the first time?

If you can’t tell, infection mitigation efforts are community driven from the population themselves. Not some edict on high.

The CDC guidance is masking is recommended. But that’s guidance and not law. And definitely not implementation or enforcement.

That's what they said the first time. And then the mandates came. So let's see.

Before 2022, vaccination rates lagged in 2021 and most were still infection naive and a million+ died. The only real population of infection/immune naive are infants. I don’t want to catch COVID, the Flu, or RSV, but I am also not living my life like I have a 1 in a hundred chance of dying from any of those three either.

You never had a 1/100 chance of dying from Covid, even when you weren't vaccinated.

Unless you are 80+ years old or immuno-compromised.

I’m heading to Asia this week and just checked on COVID restrictions. Neither Hong Kong or Singapore are putting in any new restrictions. I’m not aware of the US putting in any new restrictions.

As I'm sure you know, the risk is very very different based on age, variant, etc. I assume that the numbers you are quoting are across all age groups, right?
