NBPA needs to stfu, they have screwed the game and are on the cusp of a reversal and pendulum the other way if game interest/revenue even dips

    they’re overplaying their hand

Absolutely free speech. Harden isn't in jail tonight, is he?

The fine should be proportional to the player's salary. A flat rate doesn't make sense given the wide range of pays among players.

Gotta rally around your boys even at their worst, or else you risk setting the precedent for dudes to get fined for lesser offenses.

I'd argue the NBAPA's done its job better than any other players union for non-star players fwiw.

Don’t forget who they have to negotiate with at cap talks…it’s not harden, the crittentons, the bynums, the zions. Rather than get caught up with a dude that has tanked 3 franchises and forced his way out they should be rallying for the 95% of nba players that are just happy to have a contract and have job security for their families.

so no, longterm wise the players association is not being smart. If the league were to shut down, the owners would still be billionaires , and the 5% that run the clown show the way it has been would still be rich too. It’s everyone else that takes a beating

The owners like making money too. Zero chance the NBA gets hit with an NHL-style owner lockout (which lasted a season and a half btw) in the forseeable future unless the owners plan on something really drastic like cutting the players share of revenue in half like they did in Hockey.

Wouldn't James Harden want to stay in Philadelphia so he can have cheesesteak sandwiches everyday?

and thats the prob with the world today...

everybody has 'their boys' and they rally around em - even at their worst...

instead of holding those closest to us accountable for behaving in an appropriate manner... we enable whatever crazy 'our boys' wanna spew...

and thus everybody loses credibility - because they are all supporting some fringe element of 'their side'...

We have become a nation where we are constantly enabling and supporting asshats...

Politics? Old lying asshat A or old lying asshat B?
    Entitled athletes or greedy owners?
Drunkard Johnny Depp or lying Amber Heard?

    lol

Still not going to jail. Harden's free to say whatever he wants, and his employer can fine or fire him if they don't like it. This has nothing to do with the right to free speech.
