"but he sometimes hits the ball hard except for all the times when he doesn't and his BA is not indicative of how many hits he could get if nobody ever tried to catch the ball..."
Wonder if Nook could shed some light on this? I know Crane backed Dusty over Click last year, but curious if he's doing the same thing now with Brown? Would Brown really be good being micromanaged like this and not being able to go to Dusty and say "this nonsense needs to STOP.....and NOW"!!
I don't have an issue with Singleton starting. He should be starting at 1B because Diaz is catching which makes him the beter option, over Hensley. Starting Dubon in the OF is almost as bad as Maldy at catcher. Since June 1st vs RHP Hensley -100 wRC+ Singleton -9 wRC+ Maldy -5 wRC+ Pena 35 wRC+ Dubon 63 wRC+ Yainer Diaz 166 wRC+ 4 of starting 9 have wRC+ 63 or worse and a guy with 166 is on the bench.
Today I'm Zac Gallen's and Mike Clevinger's biggest fan because yesterday's win is wasted if the Rangers or Mariners win today. JV will never get to 300 wins when his starts are guaranteed losses before the game even starts.
So if there was a surprise illness and Dusty had to change one person in his lineup with anyone in the organization, what would be the top pick among Clutchfans between Brantley and Diaz?
Of course Crane is ok with this. He allows it to happen. He enables it. He set up the worlds dumbest org chart to insure that it happens. It's beyond absurd for anyone to lay the blame anywhere other than squarely at his feet. **** I'm mad. Also- I am so stupid. I said reading the tea leaves I believed that Dusty lost carte blanche over the lineup and they were going to make him play this with a sense of urgency. Wrong, wrong wrong wrong wrong. I'm a dumb mother****er for believing sanity would prevail as we are holding onto a playoff spot by 1 ****ing game with 6 weeks of the season left.
I think Dusty loves a good redemption story, relatable, but now is not the time for that. How about we win this series then throw Singleton in the Detroit series if that's what he wants. It makes no sense when we need runs.
