    MUTUMBO VS CLARK?

Which center would you like the rockets to sign?

the older mutumbo who has already proven himself, or the younger keon clark who has a lot of potential.

Deke is better suited for the larger and bigger centers in the west. Clark is atheletic and young but is coming off of an achilles injury which takes a long time to heal...just ask MoT.

If Clark didn't have such a debilitating injury, I'm sure he'd win this poll by a landslide. At this point, Mutombo is less of a risk.

Also big question is who would Yao learn more from Mutombo the four time defensive player of the year who actually is a center or Keon Clark.

I never liked Keon Clark. He doesn't seem to have the work ethic or determination that Mutombo has. Mutombo may be well past his prime, but he's always been a hard working guy who plays with intensity. I'd rather have that any day of the week. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Clark or Steven Hunter signed to be our third string center.

    Clark has more potential?

How much more potential does a guy have when he's 29, has a history of attitude problems, and is coming off an injury that caused him to miss 80 games?

I guess more than a 50-year-old backup center, but not that much. I'd go with the proven vet who doesn't have off-the-court issues.

    Dike(ugh).

Keon has too many question marks, and he's more of a pf than a c imo.

I'd also like to see a Yao-Mutombo frontcourt for when we play against San Antonio and Minnesota. I know Deke is only good for 10-15 minutes and that his job is to primarily back up Yao...but I think our defense would be impossible to penetrate because of those two back there. We wouldnt need points necessarily from the 4 position and Mutombo wouldnt have to guard anyone because of the zone defense. I think we could get away with it for 8-10 minutes a game just to set the tone defensively.

I think we will get Mutumbo, but I would rather have Clark because he is younger and more athletic.

Because I'm guessing Clark wants MLE money. We supposedly spent the MLE on Ward and Sura, so we'd have to pull off a sign and trade with Phoenix using the TE in order to acquire Clark. If we do that, we can't send the TE to Chicago for Mutombo.

You got to think teams likes Dallas and the Lakers would jump through hoops to land Mutombo. It would be a back breaker to see a team like Minnesota land him. He is still a defensive force in the middle.
