It is not as crazy as you put it when your name is Harden.

only due to the silas recency effect do some forget just how sh!tshow horrible a coach this clown was

and to speak to his character as well, immediately after finally getting canned he was already crying and b!tching about players like harden (who went on to rack up multiple mvp level seasons sans clown)

not once in his entire rockets tenure did he ever admit to any coaching error in any game -- it was always the players' fault

I think you can easily figure that out, he opted in with an obvious gentleman’s agreement to be traded. Trade talks have ended and now the bearded baby is upset.

(although it's funny to me that there have been so many obvious cases where players had wink-wink contract extension deals, knew where they were going to sign before July 1, or were holding out/sitting out on their current team to force their way out to specific destinations. The league hardly enforces its tampering rules, much like flopping.)

If he didn't want to play for them next season, he didn't need to opt in. He should STFU.

Basketball players want their cake and want to eat it as well. Who can blame them, this league really cuddles their superstars like no other.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Players Union and Owners have work to do to clean up their CBA if they want to reduce these types of self-interest decisions - such as players don't get paid if services aren't rendered without medical documentation or leave given. You know, like how employment works.

I imagine we'll probably move out of this phase where GMs feel obligated to give max contracts and team options to any all-star caliber player eventually, too.

James should make his $35 million and STFU. You opted in when you could have hit free agency. Bet no one would have given Harden the max either.

It speaks volumes of McHale's class and character, that to this day he still is spouting this trash.

Here's an idea 'coach', maybe look in the mirror and realise just how inept you were at the whole coaching thing. As evidenced by the fact not a single team in the entire league has even picked up the phone to reach out to you.

Imagine being uber rich and having a life of luxury, and still being down in the weeds and as petty and bitter as McHale.

The NBA has launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden's public admonishment of the franchise's President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey, sources told ESPN.

The league office is believed to be pursuing an understanding of whether Harden was portending a 2023-2024 hold out in violation of the league's collective bargaining agreement -- or had been referencing past contract discussions with the organization that might constitute salary cap circumvention, sources said.

Nevertheless, Harden has privately indicated that his public comments calling Morey a "liar" on Monday morning had only been a response to Morey ending trade discussions with an expectation that Harden would start the season with the Sixers, sources said.

The Sixers, nor Harden would be in violation of any league guidelines should that be communicated to league officials.

The Sixers informed Harden that they hadn't found a suitable trade with his preferred destination of the LA Clippers and expected him to report to the team's training camp in September --- something that sources say Harden plans to do. Despite public speculation, Harden has made no allegations of a previous handshake agreement with the Sixers on a future contract.

The Sixers have continued to deny the suggestion that the organization ever agreed upon an illegal future deal with Harden -- nor agreed and reneged on it, sources said.
