Harden is Morey's son. It was probably a real in person handshake and Harden trusted it. he had no reason to not trust it. Morey did everything for this dude.

Morey IS a liar and has treated everyone but Harden like an asset... until now? He's never outrun those accusations, I don't know that he's even trying. He's always, ALWAYS been the guy who tries to swindle other GMs, find players before they get a bag and made team chemistry look like a difficult concept. He's a cutthroat. He'd be the perfect GM if the game were played by robots. Has Harden been much different? Only an absolute tool denies his on-court greatness, but it always came with a lack of chemistry between him and teammates. He never had anyone's back, not publicly anyway. I don't blame him for wanting out of Houston. The ship was sinking. Not sure I totally blame him for the Brooklyn situation either. Kyrie was making the wrong headlines, Durant was hurt and Harden had to drag a team into the playoffs just for people to **** on him when it didn't win a chip. He had one more out and took it. This one though? This one looks really, really bad. This summer has been straight up diva behavior and I think I've glossed over and justified enough of his pot stirring drama because he made my team a contender. Maybe I'm just catching up to what most of the league thought of him for years. I love the guy for what he did for us, it was fun to watch even if it was heartbreaking. This makes me glad he jumped ship 3 years ago though.
It’s hilarious watching this, harden has done this everywhere he goes…he literally came in fat, missed camp and became so toxic we sent him away. despite all that he had ardent supporters on this board regarding thsi he isn’t wrong…players have said this countless times over the years. Morey is a bs’er. but… there’s only one person that can’t play that card. And that’s harden. Morey screwed everyone year after year for the sake of harden. We were slaves to both these assholes for too long
You still don't get it. The very reason he is in a feud with Morey is because he is NOT WORTH that kind of deal. If he did, Morey would have signed him by now. If Morey the Harden Lover didn't want to give him that kind of a contract, why should Houston do? In fact, Morey is not the only GM who know that Harden is not worth it, all other GMs know it. Otherwise he would have the leverage to demand what he wanted.
