The second trailer has been released for “Talk to Me,” the much talked about new horror film from distributor A24 and Australian twin brother filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou. The pair, best known for their YouTube channel RackaRacka, helm this tale that begins when friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand. They become hooked on the new thrill until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces. The trailer puts the focus on the one who goes too far and seemingly becomes taken over by some malevolent force. Sophia Wilde, Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Miranda Otto, Marcus Johnson, Alexandria Steffensen, Zoe Terakes and Chris Alosio star. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews leading to A24 acquiring the rights. It has since screened at multiple festivals. looks ok…I have such low expectations for horror movies these days, and it’s too bad because horror is my favorite genre…there’s just so much low effort bullsh*t that’s put out Hereditary was pretty good…I hope this film could be on that level haven’t seen Midsommar, the Lighthouse, X, or Under the Skin
I know where you are coming from because I'm a big horror fan. They churn out so many lazy crap, The Boogeyman is a recent example. A24 though has been the most consistent in terms of putting out quality horror films like Midsommar, Men, X, Under the Skin and Pearl which was my favorite film of last year....
just saw the trailer and peeped the audience score on RT for Pearl…adding it to my list of films to check out might check out X too
They are both pretty great but I'll warn that even though they are related the two movies are totally different stylistically....
I don't know your personal taste but I enjoyed the hell out of both films, made me a big fan of Goth. Pearl is like a twisted Wizard of Oz and X is very much an homage to TCM. I'd throw Infinity Pool from Brandon Cronenberg and Men from Alex Garland, both trippy ass horror movies....
