I think he said “again”. That is the key modifier. In any case, this is not targeted at Morey, but at Embiid. Trust me. Harden is getting his $35 million this year regardless. He knows he won’t get another payday again because Morey lied to him (his words, not mine). So he has no effs to give and just wants to go full Joker mode and watch the whole thing burn down. Also, a lot of people in the league don’t like Daryl Morey, people need to remember that. So honestly, Harden has nothing to lose and actually a lot to gain. The Sixers owner just took out a crap ton of debt to buy another perennially underachieving sports franchise in the Commanders, so he does not have the money to waste trying to get a perfect deal. I actually expect Morey to trade Harden for whatever they can get, before Embiid also demands out, or more importantly, before Morey gets fired.
I get it. Harden sees himself as the Man obviously but it is year 2023 after all and Morey probably wanted him on a cheaper deal or get back picks and assets for him. I do not see the Clippers selling their farm for Harden either. It is just more drama and entertainment, who cares.

If Harden were mentally tough and mature, he'd challenge for GOAT status. He really is that talented. But it's hard to overcome his mental and emotional shortcomings. Lashing out like this at Daryl Morey is just horrible form and yet another hit to his already-bad reputation.
I have no more fond memories of Daryl Morey because of how he lied his way out of our Rockets (I don’t care how Fertitta is as an owner, you can’t just say you’re going to take time off for family and then turn around and join another organization). I also think that he’s been overrated as a GM over the years, though it seems like more and more people are sharing that sentiment. While I don’t know if calling Morey out publicly like this was the best choice, if JH was promised a certain thing which is now being reneged on, I feel like he does have a right to feel peeved at the situation. Just my two cents
