Astros lead MLB in scoring since the ASB. Good things happen with your best players lined up.

Props to France for another great game. He’s gaining ‘playoff start’ trust.

    Season-high 18 games above .500

Only complaint tonight is Abreu and Neris — neither should’ve pitched. Big lead and only 2 days rest after already being abused most of the season. Can’t have everything I guess.

Great game. Great week of baseball (5-1 and dominating).

I wish we could play the Giants again so we could kick their asses for losing to the Rangers.

I found Jim Rome in 1992 when I lived in San Diego, (actually El Cajon) I was blown away by his show and how different it was.
Took me a bit to understand the harsh humor as a 23 year old but in the end I never missed his show, In 94’ he went on and on about how Hakeem was the best player in the league hands down and felt that had Jordan been in the league it would be a tall task to beat the Rockets. My favorite of So Cal sports radio hosts was Chet Forte and Lee Hacksaw Hamilton on the Mighty 690. That La Sorda interview always in 97 and I had already moved back to TX. It includes Reggie Jackson also.

He would call a ball or a strike or a foul ball and then grunt out what the ball, strike or foul ball count now was like 5-10 seconds later. Had me confused at first also but I turned it up and listened.

    1. I got to see Bill Doran tonite. With both of my sons. So much fun. Great night that I’ll remember for as long as I can still remember.

    2. Ramgers aren’t this good. I understand they’re performing and good for them. But holy career year and then some, Batman. That’s silly. Gives real 2016 vibes

    3. I got to see Bill Doran tonite. Got texts from a bunch of friends I grew up with who were watching too and said they thought of me because they knew I was a huge fan. I still am. Gritty Irish mother ****er who played my position and busted his ass. One of my friends texted: “Doran never finished a game with a clean jersey. All heart.”

    4. Astros are playing really well. They’ll be scary in the playoffs if they stay healthy and that’s all you can ask for.

    5. Go ‘stros!

Did you get to hear Bill Brown call a few innings yesterday?

Davis and Doran was a pretty solid right-side of the IF

I didn’t move to houston until 1990 so I missed the Doran era here more or less (and I was a kid). Interesting stats- he was better than I realized watching from afar.

Doran/thon was a great double play tandem. So was Doran/Reynolds

Numbers don’t tell the story though. Dude was so gritty. All heart. Rarely missed a game. He was who I wanted to be as a second baseman. So cool for me to get to see him tonite.

Who should we be rooting for? I feel like once we catch up with the Rangers, we can take over the #1 spot eventually. I rather gain a game from a team that ahead of us.

I agree but need the Mariners to cool off and have that big win streak broken. They're a little too hot now. Mariners can beat them tomorrow.

Billy D was my original favorite Astro - played 2B like a boss and was just 100% grit and grind. Upon review, he was like a 2B Breggy with a little less power and eye, but every bit of grit. I literally never questioned his effort on the diamond. Hope he's doing well!
