That's a good point. I have not yet seen a lot of leaks of villainizing information about the victim, and I hope not to. In general, since post-Waco reforms, it seems like the FBI conducts itself in a more professional manner than what we've come to expect from local or state police, so I'd be disappointed to see blame-the-victim tactics from them. I'm not going to be able to maintain my alertness on this story for very long, so I hope the MAGA loonies will keep complaining about it until the FBI releases some compelling evidence that use of force was necessary.

 

Someone said it best, conservatives’ law and order is about protecting the status quo.

Seems like the history of local and federal law enforcement is going after minorities, communist sympathizers, civil rights activists, etc with some sporadic instances of far right wing types. I have no doubt that this new breed of conservative will use the victim mentality to their advantage.

 

The New Radical Republicans and their supporters embrace death to opponents. It's nothing new. It started before the last election, continued during the insurrection, and is now becoming common rhetoric.

Typical Republicans always stating folks that get shot and killed by police deserves it for not listening to the commands. U think a delusional citizen making threats to the president and fbi gonna listen to orders when confronted?

Robertson threatened to kill the President, DA Brag, and shoot the FBI. It isn't a surprise that he got shot when the FBI came for him.

 

Not to mention, the Secret Service were aware and were looking into each of the above celebrity’s comments that alluded to the killing of a President and some had open investigations. They simply weren’t credible.

When law enforcement does a police brutality on "the people of the land" (rural white Christian type people) it becomes paradigm shifting moments in American history on how law enforcement is viewed because of how rare it is and the fact that when it happens to white Christians, the ethnic religious group that has the most clout and power in the US, there is a natural more empathetic lense to the situation. Examples would be Ruby Ridge and Waco.

Innocent people like those at Ruby Ridge die at the hands of law enforcement every year in minority neighborhoods but those incidents rarely become a paradigm shifting moment. Because as the Joker said in the Dark Knight, "it's not part of the plan" when a conservative Christian white family is a victim of police brutality.

It's a far more rare occurrence hence why I give the benefit of the doubt to law enforcement more when they raid right wing entities because in theory that means they are doing this to people who are more closely aligned with their ideology than when law enforcement raids a urban minority gang of drug dealers.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't wait for things like body cam footage to make definitive conclusions.

Caring for your children and loving your spouse is a default thing. Like that the bare minimum any human should have. You can be completely evil and still be a loving father. Loving your child is the easiest thing to do.
