What is there to fear? That Trump will spend 4 years going after retribution rather than running the county.

The second statement would be easier to believe if Trump didn't wait 3+ hours to call off the protestors, especially considering advisors and family members were pleading with him to do so.

No joke. The absolute madness that will tear this country apart is Trump himself, and not the ones holding him accountable for his crimes. The absolute madness is the man himself, the sociopath these blind followers continuously believe in. It's really sickening.

Trump has divided this country into red and blue, black and white, left and right. You have those supporting our country, and people supporting Trump, and hating a country without him in charge.

One major problem is an unwillingness or inability to see what trump really did (or failed at doing). About the only thing you wrote that I think happened was that he connected with his "base". And while its natural for a politician to focus on pleasing "his base", the President of the United States has to at least give lip service to being President for all citizens. trump made no such effort.

Infrastructure? Failed. Health care? Failed. Pandemic response? Largely failed. When prison reform is his most significant "success" you know he was a failure as President. The judges he elevated to the courts have cast public doubt in the judicial system. His attacks on other countries have isolated the U.S. Heck, even his signature "wall" was a failure. Meanwhile, division in the country only expanded and even to date he drives a bigger wedge.

And notice I haven't mentioned lies, racism, hate. Historians will record what trump has done.

Blaming the media being "hard" on him? Please. trump supporters blurt out defense like "mean tweets" "troll" and "didn't elect a pope" but that is weak justification for electing such a hateful person. And increasingly apparent, a hateful criminal.

I can't even imagine what he would so if re-elected. Sure, you supporters will celebrate. But you will be celebrating a criminal becoming president.

Putin is one of his volunteer lawyers. He needs to see the evidence to help!

So I suppose all those people chanting “Lock Her Up!” For the last 8 years at Trump rallies are really leftists? Or that the attempts to prosecute Hunter Biden and Joe Biden aren’t “Lawfare”

Also I guess James Trafficant, Michael Avenatti, Elliot Spitzer, Anthony Wiener, Rod Blagoyevich, Marion Barry, John Edwards, Dan Rostenkowski were all actually Republicans.

Also if we didn’t have evidence that he wanted to actually go to the Capitol himself and that suing the riot he told Kevin McCarthy “Maybe they care more about the election than you do.”

Let’s also not forget that while in office he rearranged US military personnel so they would be staying at his properties and also overcharged the Secret Service at his hotels when they were there to protect him.

He would’ve done many other things but was blocked by cabinet, joint Chiefs and other members of his administration. In a second Trump Admin he’s likely going to surround himself with people more loyal to him than toy he US Constitution.

I’m going to make another observation:

Many of those who are defending Trump by claiming that these charges are all
Political and that to prosecute Trump will divide the country and lead to civil war are also actively pushing that the current president is involved in a criminal enterprise and should be prosecuted.

Given that Biden did win at least half the vote have they considered that a prosecution of Biden might also be seen as political, divisive and could also lead to a civil war?

To quote another poster for thee but not for me apparently we shouldn’t go after a former president because it’s too divisive and political but we should go after the current one.

That’s objectively a true statement. It’s a fact that at least in Georgia Lindsay Graham is a subject in their investigation. It’s also a fact that more than half of the House Republicans on January 6th voted to not certify the election and honor the will of the voters which is bordering on culpability even if it was a house rule that they could vote either way. Then there are the Republicans who literally gave tours the day before to January 6 criminals.

    etc etc..

    So yeah she’s not wrong.

1 person can get you a hung jury, not an acquittal. Maybe they don't try to prosecute again after a hung jury, but there's no way he actually gets a not guilty verdict at the end of the trial. That takes 12 people not seeing what's in front of their faces.
