    Great idea.

Bright, colorful, well animated, nothing really gross or scary.

Into the Spider Verse is my go-to tripping movie, but this looks like it checks the boxes as well.

I enjoyed it, but almost entirely for the references.

Otherwise it was as cut and paste as animated kids movies can get. I guess if you can reel in in adults with easter eggs and references it's hard to argue the financial formula.

I've endured all of their movies since super troopers figuring they had score another W eventually.

What a disappointment, pure one hit wonders.

I will admit I chuckled at Bill Paxton playing Jimmy Buffett, just because it was Bill Paxton playing Jimmy Buffett....

What was his name, Coconut Ron or something?

It was fairly enjoyable. I wasn't 100% paying attention to it since I was doing chores after the kids were asleep, so I think I missed some visual easter eggs. But I was satisfied with it. It's not like Mario lore has a good story anyway lol. Some nice mindless fun that was visually appealing.
