I'm facing a dilemma. I know I'm going to pick up Vice City right when I get to school, but I am unsure if I should pick up the double-pack with GTA3 or not. Will I actually still want to play GTA3 after playing Vice City? I'm unsure since it seems that VC is everything that GTA3 is and more. Any opinions?
Get the feel for that game and it will prepare you for Vice and San Andreas. Can't wait for San Andreas!
Both outstanding games but nothing really compares to GTA 3, You will play that game and beat it, and still play it over and over again. Vice City has some new features but overall GTA 3 is still probably the best video game ever in the modern era of PS2 and Xbox.
If you have an Xbox the double pack is your only option (I think its around $40) but if you've got a PS2 then your gonna end up buying both either way (after you've played the first you'll definitely want to play the second or vice versa)
imma need some cash help, i want madden 05, live 05, and san andreas lol is the rumor abt live being 39.99 true?
gta3>vice city gta3 was just a ton more enjoyable for me than vice city. vice city i guess was an improved version, but gta3 had some sort of charisma and fun that vice city did not.
Wait...the new Prince of Persia? Those graphics were outstanding. Anyhow...GTA3 and VICE CITY are the same game. Just different locals and a couple different vehicles. One won't make you see the other in a less light. They're both good. Get em both.
San Andreas is due October 19, 2004 according to Amazon. There is a really good article about the new stuff in it in the Gaming Thread. The only thing that stinks about the double pack is that if someone bought Vice City when it came out their saves wont work on your game. They also toned down the Hatian bashing didn't they?
Ya, Sands of Time is a vast improvement. The dreamlike effect of the haze and lighting is incredible. Reminds me a lot of Soul Reaver. That game was awesome too.
The old Prince of Persia is one of the most overrated games of all time. Everybody always flips out about how innovative and wonderful the gameplay is, but in my opinion it's clunky, slow, repetitive and just overly crappy, even when compared to games of that period.
I just started vice city. I get lost easily and find the drving more difficult. I just killed the guy at the golf course and have moved onto the mall shooting.
I agree, VC had its charms (jumping motorcycles off the rooftops of buildings) but the original was just more fun for me. Of course, I played the original on PS2 and VC on the Xbox, and I really did not like the Xbox controls. That mighta had something to do with it.
GTA has been the best money can buy game. I mean, it has the greatest replay value of any game I have ever owned! I still love GTA3 and GTA Vice City. I can't wait to get my hands on San Andreas.
