In DC, I live right next to where Chesley Clinton and most high profile students in the district still go to school. Anybody need some hostages?

Back when I was in high school, St John's, Strake Jesuit, and Episcopal were the top 3 schools in town, in that order.

I went to Second Baptist on Voss and Woodway, good school pretty religious. looks very good for college though, lots of my friends got in just because of the name. Expensive too, about 12,000 a year for 9-12 grade, cheaper from pre-k through 8, but not by much. All it all it was a very good school though

    Kinkaid comes pretty highly regarded.

I believe St. Johns is still the top school in Houston, though.

    my alma mater (now).

It's free if you're in HISD. IIRC, tuition for out of district students is somewhere around $8000 per year....

Any that y'all can think of in the Southeast side (Clear Lake or thereabouts)?

It is still 5 years away, but it doesn't hurt to start planning.

In Houston, St. Johns is easily on top.

Others that are highly regarded by colleges are:

    Kinkaid
    Episcopal
    Strake Jesuit
    Second Baptist

I went to Second Baptist...the kids there dont usually try to leave Texas to attend great out-of-state programs, rather, they prefer to go to UT, A&M, Baylor, Tech, SMU, etc... However, the school name can still get you into top out of state schools if thats what you want.

I ended up going to Washington University with subpar statistics (3.2 GPA, which ranked me in the top 50% of my class and 1270 SAT), which were below Wash. U's averages. I even got early admission. I think my high school had a hand in that, otherwise my application slipped by the admissions committee.

Basically, all my friends that wanted to go to really good schools out of state, got in with very little problems.

Ask the private school for a profile of the graduating class to compare (ie., what schools they got into, and importantly, how many got into those schools...ie 5 to rice, etc.)

Strake Jesuit is the best all-around education in Houston. Great academics, great athletics, a nationally competitive debate program, a fantastic campus, and an excellent and accomplished faculty.

Beep, Beep, back the truck up....There are no females at that school, therefore you must subract 56 points from the total score, making St. Johns #1 in Houston. I couldnt imagine being in a class full of dudes. Nothing to look at and think about.

There's a WHOLE SCHOOL OF NOTHING BUT GIRLS right next door . . . and they share a fair number of classes with Strake as well.
