    You are right. They really couldn't do any other trades since they were still negotiating which players to send the Mets.

    $35 M total this year and next. Then 1/2 the option if it vests

    @Nook has relationships and you don't see him throwing a fit. There are others as well... Dude needs to grow up.

    To be fair, it wasn't hard to see that Houston would be in play for Verlander once the Mets decided to sell. Houston had a huge need for starting ptiching.

    Wow - I’d be really curious as to why he would not waive his NTC to LA - and a possible favorite to win the NL. Maybe he has an outstanding warrant out there

    Would literally be selling the farm but the Astros would be WS favorites for the next two years.

    That's 3 years to build the farm system including 2023 MLB Draft... just saying.

    Gut says we add a big bat within the hour.

    I think we would have to send ML talent...Chas, Jake, Hunter, etc...to make that happen. I'll believe it when I see it. And honestly, I hope I don't at that kind of cost.
