It's really not fair to compare the two situations. The Rockets were in full tank mode those two seasons. Ralph can't be blamed. [IMG]

Lest we not forget, Bullard logged serious minutes at the 5 last year [IMG] In that light, Griffin is a definite upgrade [IMG]

So grummett, if I wanted to know a little fact like that, where would I look? Or was that from memory.

    UGH......

I hate these discussions. Eddie Griffin will play BASKETBALL. Where he starts on the floor is somewhat irrelevant. They can slot him wherever they want to. He'll play the 3, he'll play the 4, if they play small ball, heck he may get minutes at the 5.

Offensively, it appears as if he has a good, back to the basket, low post mentality. This is a good thing. He also flourishes on the break, and is a very athletic player. Hopefully that will translate into some slashing and offensive rebounding as well.

Defensively, he also seems to have a big man's mentality. He love to block shots, he seems to have decent positioning skills, and often has guarded the bigger, stronger opposition.

Let's not forget, there are two sides of the floor he must play on. He could be guarded by a 2, or a 3, maybe a 4. That doesn't mean on the other end he will be checking the same guy that guarded him.

Can he bang with Malone, KG, Duncan? Probably not. So you don't waste his fouls and tire him out doing so. You play his strengths on both ends of the floor, and limit the exposure of his weaknesses.
