    Is it though? Scherzer's numbers this season are kind of trash across the board, He'll be a marginal upgrade over their #4 guy, but that's about it, this isn't adding an ace at the deadline.

    And not sure anybody is really reacting like that. Scherzer is good… but without Eovaldi, its not quite the improvement in their rotation that they’re presuming.

    It's just so weird, if the Astros had traded for Scherzer, I wouldn't feel ANY better about the season.

    They’re close… but the vesting option as is won’t tickle nostalgia too much.

    If the Mets kick something in enough to get a better prospect back, good for them… and its probably a deal.

    Maybe casual fans are worried. Max is no longer Max. Rangers should have went for JV to block us. Crane loves JV at the right price.

    Rangers got a #4 pitcher. Nothing to be scared of. If Astros get JV then the Rangers are really going to worry because JV has been vintage.

    not a bad looking rotation assuming everyone gets back to form
