    Tldr summary

    The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has stated that it will not pursue a campaign finance charge against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried. The decision came after Consulting with The Bahamas regarding an extradition document. Bankman-Fried was originally indicted on eight counts, with five additional charges added later. However, his defense team argued that The Bahamas had to agree to those charges under the extradition treaty with the U.S. The DOJ has now decided not to proceed with the campaign finance charge, as The Bahamas did not include it in the extradition treaty. Bankman-Fried is currently scheduled to go on trial in October, and it is unclear if the campaign finance charge will be included in a second trial in March.

    The way SBF conned a bunch of elites and venture capitalists shows how vapid and empty our elite class is.

    Cosplaying as a disheveled genius who can pitch business ideas while playing league of legends apparently is all it took.

    I'm sure the DOJ can bring charges against SBF which will get him an amount of years that effectively amount to a life sentence no matter how you slice it.
