I think Horford had quite a few assists under Ime. He played like 30 minutes per game, averaged 3.4 assists, not nearly the playmaker Alpi is, but he had games with 7,8,9 assists. So Ime does not seem averse at all to having the Center as playmaker.

I'm not optimistic. A Sengun-centric offense requires hard cutters and they just got rid of KJM and Christopher, the two best cutters on the team.

Also, the possession math doesn't work out. We got a free agent PG to make plays and another free agent who thinks he can make plays. Also Jabari will have to eat more than last year.

So how many possessions are left for Sengun? He's not very productive without the ball and the organization has not gotten the hard-cutting, 3&D complimentary players that you need around Sengun.

he'll have to force their hand to play through him or get traded. I don't see the brass leaning towards Sengun at the moment..

We added Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore, who will easily exceed KJ Martin as cutters. Jabari and Tari will also get much better at rim-running duties when they're not, y'know, rookies.

    Now I'm sad.

I had completely scrubbed Hollins' terrible commentary from my mind.

Hollins was one of those who had been conditioned by the organization to praise the move to bench Alpi for Bruno...like Kelly Iko and others.

    good points, let’s hope.
Cam is an elite cutter, let’s hope he gets solid minutes.
Amen is very smart has the potential to be a very good cutter and finisher.
Tate and Eason will cut but nowhere near the finishing abilities of KJM

At some point we’ll have to figure out if we have The Guy in Sengun and for that to happen you need to give him the ball and surround him with the right players. It’s not looking like the brass is set to do that, but let’s see…

HaHaHa. Ahem. Amen, Cam, Jalen, Tari will be great “cutters” and are way better than KJM and Christopher at pretty much everything else. Cam is 19 years old and already a better defender and 3 pt shooter than KJM.

I like Cam, too, but will he play? Will Amen play? Tari can cut, but he can't finish. Will he improve in that?

But the bigger issue is Jalen/KPJ/Brooks. Will these guys cut? I think Jalen can cut, but he hasn't done it much. Sometimes wisely so, as he gets attention and works as a decoy... Sometimes he just misses the opportunity. KPJ and Brooks are questionable as cutters...

Comparing efficiencies across players with different roles is not sound either.

Alpi's efficiency would plummet if he was the guy doing most of the bail out shots

They better play, you cannot keep overpaying older vets with horrendous sums.

You got to build up value and trade them for very good players.

Or better, making them All Star calibers.

KPJ often pssed very late in the shot clock, as a last option, when he was "stuck" trying to get his own shot off (not only to Alpi, to anyone). Those were basically bail out shots.

Interesting how many people think Giddey's a surefire top prospect but Jalen's a bust...

KPJ and Green are the two players who are least responsible for this because they actually can create a decent look at all three levels of a half court offense for themselves. You don't want Sengun doing bail out 15 ft fadeaways. Hence why his shot selection is very limited to one part of the half court set.

While I agree it’s hypocritical, Giddey offers more than just scoring. A true 6’8/6’9 point guard that can lead an offense and rebound is nice.
Similar to Amen, if shooting gets better they have something special
