Carfax is useless, anyone that has an accident can take their car to someone that will get the car fixed without reporting it anywhere.

if this is a car from the dealer.. tell the dealer to print you one...

I know we bought a car and they told us about how they do carfax checks on all their used cars they get in.. so we told them to go print us the carfax report for it..

I subscribed back when I was looking at cars . . . WORST IDEA EVER! It's completely and totally worthless. It said it found several things on record about the car I was looking at, so I paid for one month of service . . . what were the things about the car? Oh, well, it was shipped from the factory to the dealer. Then the dealer sold it to some guy, and he sold it to another dealer . . .

    WORTHLESS!!!

Carfax is indeed misleading. Not totally worthless, but far from optimum protection.

Nothing beats having a reputable mechanic look at it (and a body man).

PS - Looney Toon may want to start a general car talk thread instead of posting every new question about a car in brand new threads. ;)
