Jalen green has identical shooting numbers as ivey but apparently no one here rates ivey highly. But everyone wants to put green in their top 5. Atleast ivey who is ranked last on this list has playmaking potential Stop with the hypocrisy. Its time to take off the homer glasses
Fair enough, sounds like we just disagree on philosophy here. For point #2 I personally prefer the latter.
1) Wemby 2) Scoot 3) Amen 4) Paolo 5) Cade 6) Chet 7) Jabari 8) Ausar 9) Green 10) Wagner 11) Miller 12) Sengun 13) Mobley 14) Williams 15) Walker
I would give him a chance. Might disagree with this particular topic, but he is extremely knowledgeable and not just a stat nerd, though he relies on them quite a bit. He is very high on Hakeem as far as all time best players/careers go. The podcast did a great series on the top 40 careers of all time and he had Hakeem 5th.
The issue is guys like Jimmy Butler are RARE. Most of the NBA superstars come from lottery selections, that's just a fact. The further you go down the draft the less likely you will find superstars. People like Butler or even Jokic are extremely rare, these are people that fell out of the lottery AND became stars and usually players that do that, like Butler, don't become stars on the team that drafted them any ways. If Reaves becomes a star it won't be on the Lakers. Those guys have 'hype' for a reason, its because a lot of people that get paid to find potential stars think they can become stars. If the Rockets skipped on Green, the next team was drafting him, if the Rockets skipped on Jabari, the next team was drafting him.
Sometimes it's for a reason, sometimes it's not. A lot of highly hyped, early draft picks end up mediocre to nothing, very few end up showing something special, that's why the subjective label of "potential" should be taken with a grain of salt till they start to show it on the court.
Not trying to be that guy, but based on production alone Chet over Alpi is a lil crazy (even potential) I would move Murphy & Kessler higher as well. Also, Scoot needs to be Scoot Jr. or New Scoot or Scoot II, the OG Scoot plays for Htine! (4 now)
