Want to convert some old tapes (especially Rockets finals) to Digital format and to dvd tried the Pinnacle studio 9 av/dv but was sold a NTSC version, so returning that, may get another version but it is really expensive here so have to rely on ebay europe, checking out other options and stumbled on this http://www.leadtek.com.tw/multimedia/winfast_dv2000_1.shtml which i can get for about $120 aussie dollars..... anyone think this (plus a chip and motherboard upgrade that i doing) will get the job done? Cheers
There is a product made by Plextor you should check out. I believe that it's the AV-100 or something like that. VERY easy to use and great quality stuff.
Well you're going to need a DVD writer and softwares, and a hardware capture card like a FireWire PCI Card. Does your video card have a capture input or output?
Here's my setup: A stero vcr's video, audio-L, audio-R get cabled up to my digital camcorder (it has analog inputs)... camcorder connects to my computer through firewire. I press play on VCR, it runs through my camcorder to the computer where I capture it into Adobe Premiere. Camcorder gives excellent quality (as good as VCR can produce). I then author the DVD in Adobe Encore (not the best out there, but it's pretty darn good - it covers all my needs with a very simple interface). A few nights ago, I captured a 30 minute workout video for my wife, created a menu with 6 chapters, converted and burned it to dvd in 3 hours. Didn't lose a single frame. -- droxford
Belkin High Speed USB2.0 DVD Creator http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Product_Id=137940 http://mats-systems.com.au/tvtuner.html http://www.ht.com.au/Scripts/xworks.exe?PART:H0616#Tof
This is what I use, although I've only made one DVD so far. I use it for TV screen caps and as a DVR. But as I recall, making a DVD from a VHS was just like push play and record kinda thing, real basic. You must also remember that the DVD is gonna look VHS, don't expect DVD quality, you are basically making a VHS DVD! Although with the right software you can get very technical. Check the specs on any hardware you buy... the item in the link above requires a P4 - 2.0Ghz or better computer. http://www.aver.com/
thanks RHead, nice option just need to find it cheap in the Uk for sale, not risking buying anything in the US with NTSC/PAL issues
just a remindr of what I told you already Smegs.....stay away from the usb capture devices...especially the Dazzle products.(Like DoD said) as usual....any questions can be directed at me at the usual place...Im finally back from vacation so I should be able to answer them pretty quickly.
We ended up going to North Padre/Corpus spent the weekend chilling at the bar on the beach and riding jetskis.. cool stuff...
yeah clear about not getting USB thinking now of trying to get a TV/radio/capture combo card watching a few auctions on ebay uk (to ensure i get a pal system) , which are the Hauppauge Win TV PVR-350 TV Card, check it out if you can have also emailed avermedia to see if that systems are pal compliant
Hauppage is great! I've always heard good things from people about their TV Tuners, I use a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 or something to that degree and its great too
