I think we have three small forwards already with Jackson, Nachbar and McGrady.

JJ is good, but he getting old.
    Boki is too inconsistent
    TMAC is our SG.

Rodney White is available as a FA along with his teammate Nichloz Tsivili (no idea how to spell his name) via trade.

I hope you didn't pay money just to write this post.

THe Rox are looking to trade for a backup Center - and they have an abundance of guys who can play the 3 on this squad (including Gaines and Sura - if necessary)

what is this the YMCA league - you can play more than one position depending on who is on the floor - T-mac and JJ will play the wing some

T-mac and Sura will play the wing some

Sura and JJ will play the wing some

there are only 96 minutes of SF and SG time available and T-mac will get 38 of them JJ will get 35 of them... that means there are only 23 left for Boki and Sura

    nevermind Pike and Griffin

The only true small forward we have is Boki.

The rest are just big guards. We have too many of those.

I think JJ will start for us with Tmac, but I'd like to have some help at the 3 spot, too. I'd prefer Tmo to Adrian Griffin or Bob Sura manning that spot, for example. It would be nice to have a little extra size and rebounding skill there. We need the size for post entry passing and defense, and we need the boards because our 4s aren't great rebounders and Yao tips the ball alot.

We are counting on Boki being ready to contribute, and JJ coming back strong and solid. It's a gamble, really.

We are way overstocked with backup 2 guards and points. There's got to be a trade coming there. We really don't need Pike, AG, Gaines or Wilks. Unless there's some surprise, hidden skill that shows in training camp, they shouldn't get on the court in front of Tmac, JJ, Sura, Ward and Lue.

Well I've sort of been harboring the hope that we signed Sura with our $1.6 million exception. Then we can make a full mle offer to Darius Miles. Or maybe send Portland our TE and either Gaines or a draft pick for Miles. The blazers don't seem to be that keen on keeping him.

I love the idea of T-mac and Miles defending on the perimeter. They both have the length, and athleticism to be top-notch defenders. And I think JVG can really bring that out of them.

Let's talk about Centers. We are set at our other positions. Our SG rotation will be T-Mac, Sura, Jackson ... our SF roatation will be Jackson, Nachbar, T-Mac.

Codell, if you're really serious about clearing up cap room for '06, that's a luxury we'll have to live without, sorry to say. :p

The Rockets do need to add more size. This team minus Yao would be the smallest team in the West. And I think that we need to be three deep at center position just in case of an injury, especially if our main backup center is Mutombo who hasn't exactly been healthy the last few years.

My ideal roster/lineup for next season:

    C Yao/Mutombo(?)/another C
    PF Howard/Taylor/Spoon/Padget
    SF JJ/Nachbar
    SG TMac/Gaines/AG
    PG Sura/Lue/Ward

That would be a soild lineup with some depth.

I think that JJ will be playing closer to 25 than 35 minutes a night this season. I really think he played way too many minutes last season. Hopefully, Boki will see around 15-20 minutes a game next season.

my thoughts exactly. a scrub C over 6'9 will do. lol i got a good idea, we should just sign badiane and let mutombo teach him a few yhings. both tall lanky nigerians that like to play defense.

bbut there would be too many poeple on the roster. i would like padgett back also.

With Sura and Ward both capable of playing the point, I would rather go with the potential of Gaines over Lue if we have to slough off some backcourt players.

ok my bad :( but still he could tutor Badiane. They have the exact same body types and play the same type of game.
