Because he will be one of the youngest players in the league and needs all the reps he can get. It will be a hard hill to climb for minutes during the regular season.
Just saying, “short armed” doesn’t really mean much, his standing reach is fine - you’re using this as your argument he should exclusively play SG? OK?
I think people forget that steals aren't just about arm length/hand size, you can also get them with strength and quick hands, and Cam's got those in spades. Can't imagine how strong he's going to be when he's 25 after 6 years of NBA weight training.
Depends, if he steals from smaller scrubs, players with high center of gravity..... The good thing is he is quick, but even the quickest players get old some day. If he is trying to steal from someone who has good handles with good length, a massive reach would be advantageous.
You realize the size of people at pg and sf are different right? Think Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza are the same height? OK?
Whitmore ain't getting 5 stls vs NBA level forwards lol. The steal kings at forwards have long arms and big hands like Trevor Ariza and Kawhi. I also don't know if Whitmore will keep adding weight as he ages it'll slow him down and the added weight's gonna make him more prone to injury.
Agreed. I think it will be best for Cam if he spends his rookie season focusing on being the best 3&D player he can be. His offensive game can develop over the years and right now the Rockets have plenty of guys that can carry the load. My hope is that one day Cam can become the player that Dillon Brooks believes himself to be.
