Just a rule about posting trade speculation...use a title like [TRADE IDEA] or Just a thought:

Don't just post "TJ Ford - Our PG?" and leave it. It sounds like a legit rumor or story when it isn't.

Thanks for the opinions, guys. I posted this, but I don't really truely believe this is who the Rockets would be targeting as their starting pg. He can't shoot consistently and is coming of that horrible injury. Like I said before, I was EXTREMELY bored and starting looking at all the teams' depth charts on HoopsHype and Ford's bio just looked too coincidental to what I remembered Doc's post stated. The Bucks are deep at PG (and trying to land another one via free agency) and C, which the Rockets need to fill. Maybe they part with Ford (and his injury) to get a big contract off the books (Van Horn?) so they can make sure to have plenty of cap to resign Redd and go after another good free agent next season. Maybe the Rockets have switched focus on their offense. As good as Yao is, he is still has trouble creating his own shot from the post. I watched the second half of China vs. Argentine (posted on this board) and just about all of his baskets came off a nice pass from a driving guard. I was like alot of people on this boad who felt like the Rockets' guards didn't throw it into Yao enough, but maybe there was a reason for that. Sure, we all like to think it was because of Stevie & Mobley wanting to do their own thing, but we just do not know what all went on behind closed doors. Maybe the Rockets feel that getting a PG that can penetrate the defense every time down the court can make them more effective. If that is the case, think about how much pressure that puts on the other team when he penetrates and has MCGrady (who can penetrate as well) who can hit the jumper plus move well without the ball, JJ who can nail the open 3, Howard who is an effective mid range shooter, and especially Yao who can either nail the mid range or slide under for a pass and dunk. Again, these are just some thoughts.

Still, Mogrod, it is an interesting and entertaining theory. I tend to believe we are trading for Larry Hughes of Washington. He was an eighth pick if I recall, and he may be available for Erick Piatkowski, a first rounder and our T-E (if the Wiz, as I understand the T-E trade rule, include a second rounder so we can use the T-E). I believe Hughes is in the last year of his contract so the Wiz may be antsy about losing him for nothing next year.

lol most definitely I am wrong to the fifth degree. Going by what mogrod had said, I took it as verbatim. Doc clearly illustrated those phrases differently. He was pointing out our own point guard's shortcomings from the past. My apologies fellas. Good one pariah

i strongly doubt that t.j. would come to houston, although he is from houston... played for willowridge. anyways... the only reason the bucks ever even went to the playoffs was b/c of the presence of t.j.. once he went out... the teams slupped lossing 15 out of like 19 games... shows his presence is KEY.
