Very disturbing he was out there killing for so long and glad they caught this guy. I'm curious though as an architect what he was claiming as being a "trouble shooter".

Sorry I missed the other serial killer thread. Mods can merge if they choose.

Its personally unsettling the killer is an architect
Being an architect doesn’t mean you can be a homicidal maniac. It’s again that outwardly this guy kept up a facade (that’s an architectural term), that no one else not even his family suspected.

Also architects can be prone to have big egos and want to express themselves in many different ways. From how he taunted his victims’ families and the care he took in his murders it appears he was expressing himself in other ways.

But, he cried and said he was "innocent".

They've got the wrong guy! ;)

If he says he's innocent, you gotta believe'm.

Is this expressly said in architect school?

It’s in the required ethics segment of our licensing exams and continuing education

Is anyone really surprised? He looks like an extra from The Sopranos.

I would like to think that violating the architectural code of ethics is far down down the list of egregiousnesses here.

He was a weird guy. Had lots of big name clients, an office in Manhattan for over 35 years… lived in a gated community, yet his house was falling apart. He also had some interesting parties and friends such as doctor’s, former Sheriff of town now in prison….

Speaking from personal experience many architects do live unusual lives.

Architectural Insight: He couldn't be I.M. Pei so he expressed himself as I. M. Guilty.
