I think we're waiting for League Approval for a Special Exception to offer him a SUPERMAX!!!

TBD. Shams will have news later.

Williamson, I've played, coached and watched this game for over 50 years. As an old school guy, the eye test is always my first assessment of a player. I can't account for the team, scheme, players or competition that Mayer had in college--I didn't watch him at all. WIth that in mind, stats are a secondary tool for me. True it's only SL and its only been 2 games that's he gotten in the game, but he's making an impact and doing it within the flow of the offense. That is really, I mean really tough to suddenly jump into a team/game and make an immediate impact. That showed me something.

Now, I maybe wrong and all of you advanced stats gurus may be right, but what I've seen so far looks like a nice addition for Ime to our bench. I mean he's a Texan (born in Austin), 6'9", shoots 3 well, can finish, hustles and seems to have very good BBIQ.

Maybe he's only a streak shooter. He finished his college career by going 1-20 from 3 over 3 games. He gets his shot up extremely fast and on the move. He's showed good basketball instincts too.

Your point about him being average in college is fair because there just aren't a lot of NBA sharpshooters who weren't also high percentage from 3 in college...especially over a 4 year college career.

I LOVE this guys game.....Inwish we could keep him and Days but I think only one will make it. I would have to chose "The Mayor" Mayer.

Same thing with Chandler Parsons and Austin Reeves.

Some dudes just do better in the NBA for some reason.

We already signed Days and Hudgins what do you mean only one will make it?

Also there's a high chance all 3 will make it as the NBA allows 3 2 way contracts now.

John Mayer's boy brings much needed sex appeal to the team.

Tate is the odd man out, would rather have Days and Mayer than Tate.

Currently like Days a little more than Mayer but I am LSU biased so let them duke it out. Seeing Days is getting more time than Mayer in SL makes me think the staff likes him better also.

Odd, odd man out but ‘in position’ to flow right into a role if almost anyone goes down.

    Top Feb trade chip?

Rodions Kurucs isn't on the poll? Big streaky shooter that works hard and does decent in useless games. I wouldn't get too attached.

I believe he was an English major and a bit of a "scholar" not just an athlete. Had a friend who lived in the same complex as him in those early years. How did his Rocket career end?

Dr D thanks for sharing that article. His comments on sharks resonate with my own life. I patterned my game from John Havlicek, who was constantly moving (like a shark), and that ended up being a nickname for part of my life, hence Shark44. Longer story, but Newlin's lust for knowledge and 1-on-1 skills are other ways I relate to him.

Brought back a lot of things I'd forgotten. Good memories.
