What for? Rockets already have Jabari Smith. Don't tell me you want Sam Dekker back. Why not Trevor Hudgins instead?
You can sandwich him between 2 defenders Only if he’s half foot-long he could have been a good backup C
My understanding is that we have two 2-way contracts signed with Days and Hudgins, and that two is the max. But technically there should be at least one roster spot available outside of that. hard to put too much stock into one summer league performance, but I really like this kid. It was obvious from his presence in the game early on that he knows how to play basketball. He’s actually sneaky athletic. The all around skill and fundamentals are good. If he can be a consistent high-level efficient shooter, he actually has enough athleticism to hang defensively. He should get a camp invite and if he earns it, I’d love to find a way to keep him under team control.
He's a better player than Hudgins or Days .... I'd keep him around on a two way over either of them. 6'9" dudes that can shoot & defend have a place in this league and he has more than just 3D, he can handle and pass.
Myers looks like a typical Heat prospect. There is 3 now so I guess he got that on lock. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2023/07/2023-24-nba-two-way-contract-tracker.html
I was kinda pissed Rox didn't sign anyone after getting Whitmore (Sanogo????) but maybe they already reserved their 2 ways for Days, Hudgins and this kid. Makes a lot of sense tbh.
You and I usually don’t see eye to eye, but a very sincere THANKS for not being one of the hundred on this board salivating over Hudgins. He sucked last year and will again this year regardless of one decent summer game. That kid loves to hoist up ridiculously bad shots and usually misses them. Would much rather have kept Jgup or TyTy as a 3rd backup pg. Sadly, have this weird feeling we’re going to be seeing quite a bit of Hudgins this year until they eventually cut him.
I like his game. Very confident with his 3 and that could be his role on the team. He handles the ball well enough that if he gets run off the line he can still do something good with it, unlike guys we have had in the past in that role. Being 6'9 and a decent athlete gives him a chance on defense. Put him on the floor as a spacer with creators and he will keep the defense honest to give them room. He should get more minutes next game again with Jabari and Tari sitting, so we shall see if he can put up numbers again.
