I like Sura - ward I would take or leave - but there wasn't much left out there

also, think that the vetrans angle is at work here (JVG might be tired of young players who make mistakes)

Yes!!! Great news. I’ve been hoping for Bob Sura ever since the Mcgrady trade.

But why are we getting the best of what's left? Maybe Barry didn't want to sign with us, but why wouldn't we sign James or Jones? Neither was over priced, over signed (length) and wanted to play with us. Is Ward better than those 2? I had hoped our silence meant that a trade was given a gentleman's agreement and the a time had to pass before it could be announced. This is what we've been waiting for - Ward and Sura? Ward is last on the list of people we should sign with Sura being behind him. Sura? What is CD thinking?

I thought Wilks had potential as a take-care-of-the-ball, pure PG. Sorry, Wilks.

Dont we now have 5 PG's?

Sura (shot 29% from 3pt last year)
    Ward
    Lue
    Gaines
Wilks (which Rockets protected during expansion draft).

    Your comments are understandable

Although the contract details are not out yet, I assume the Rockets and CD did not want to break the bank for a guy who's job description will be "Give the ball to Yao and Tmac without turning it over."

I'm pretty sure Sura can play the 2 and 3. He even averaged 8+ rebounds for the Hawks last year.

I like Sura but he is not 3pt threat last year around 2.60 and thats about his career average. I thought making 3's was a prioirity from our PG spot. Anyway I will wait and see but it sounds like a 1 year fix.

It is a short term fix. But I like it much better than giving 7 year deals to the likes of Matt Maloney and Moochie Norris.

Charlie Ward is a good 3 pt. shooter.

Blah, not the best option, but whatever keeps Lue off the floor is fine with me.

If they wanted a short term fix they could have signed Damon Jones or Mike James. Those 2 signed short term deals for very little money.

I think the Rockets just prefer Sura and Ward instead of those two guys.

These two are good quality depth IMO. Nothing special, but assuming we used a portion of the MLE and the vet minimum on them, then these are solid, safe signings.
