There's really no incentive aside from money. Maybe if automatic home court advantage was on the table the playoff teams would b more willing to participate. Otherwise this is the tanking teams chance to experience a faux playoff
I really don't get what's to hate about it. It's basically regular season games with a twist to be slightly more interesting For **** teams like the Rockets and othe rteams unlikley to make the playoffs, it's actaully a chance to play a meaningful game - I can see people not being interested, but I don't get why anybody would be bothered by it(unless you're worred about vegas/gambling getting too close to pro sports, which is not unreasonable)
Since this is regular season games like @SamFisher has pointed out then it's completely fine. Adds a bit of spice the early season games even.
Adam Silver's a moron. Constant trades, load management, and "player empowerment" are why nobody cares about the regular season anymore. Not the lack of a meaningless tournament.
Rocket's bracket B in western conference. Rockets Nuggets Clippers Pelicans Mavericks - out of this lot, you know the other teams want to face us first. Part of me wish the coaches put only 2nd / 3rd string players in this thing; to load manage the starters.
Being held in Vegas you best believe it will be some D House in the bubble type ish going down, rather it makes headlines or not is a diff story Its basically a Las Vegas city promo tour to test the water and usher them in getting a NBA franchise, masked as a NBA tournament
