His ability to get to the rim looks effortless

He's faster than everyone on the court, and at 6'7'' he has more than enough height/size to be able to finish around the rim.

The thing that stood out for me is he looks better having better players and playing against better players. The coaching at OTE was atrocious and he looks so much more disciplined and controlled in all aspects of his game than in those OTE games.

That rapid growth to his game combined with his IQ and dedication is really special. I’m much more confident that he will develop a serviceable shot after learning more about him. When that happens he will be elite.

Spears updated the tweet to 3-4 weeks now, apparently. By the end of the summer, it'll be a career-ender. Such are the Rockets' medical updates :

Hear me out here, but maybe it's kind of good that Amen is not a high-volume three point shooter? You want him to be able to hit them when he's left wide open, of course, to keep the spacing intact, but we already have some guys who are looking like they could become big-time shotmakers/play finishers.

If Amen ends up being like a 16 and 11 guy with elite defense that could be a perfect fit on this team. Leave plenty of shots for our other guys. You can only fit so many 20+ point scorers on one team.

I’m just glad we didn’t end up with Brandon Miller. So far no good.

I'm very, very happy with our draft choices: Amen, and Cam Whitmore. I think we will look back years from now, as the turning point for this franchise. Consistent winning demands clubs to be led by good point guards. Amen fits that requirement, maybe not this year, but I'm hopeful that he gets minutes off the bench.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but remember this: the cream always rises to the top. If Amen is IT, he will get playing time.

a mid-range game is what I'd like for him to have and to be great at..

if to add to the elite things he already have

Amen lives in the paint, he needs to focus on his free throw shooting. His defense is solid though, he can switch 1-4, rebound, steals and block shots. He can get anywhere he wants to go on the floor.

Yeah for sure. Really just needs to be able to hit wide open catch and shoot 3's.

It would certainly be better if he can shoot better than that. I would not say it's better for him to be lesser at anything. If he becomes a great shooter, we can trade the least efficient scorer in the group for a two way player.

But I understand your point, he doesn't really need to be a great shooter. He just needs to be slightly better than Russell Westbrook at catch and shoot imo. We can't have a situation where teams sag off him to harass other scorers - the kind of hell Embiid was going through on the Sixers or Davis/Lebron on the Lakers. The moment he can hit like 35% of 2 attempts, he's on his way.

If you have defense and elite passing, then the only thing that can stop your impact on winning is a very broken shot.

    I told y'all, it's never just a sprained ankle. It's a 2nd grade ankle sprain.

While I hope he is right, I find it easier to see Scoot getting more minutes and opportunity to produce stats.
