I hope he's a better FT shooter than Rondo.

The mid-drive one-hand whip pass perfectly on time and target to Tari for the and-1 was an elite NBA PG play. I’ve seen enough.

Great player, great leader….he is a generational point guard. He has elite offense and defense skills. I hope we could get Ausar Thompson via trade one day, Rockets could be a elite defense with a shot blocker

Now we are overreacting the other way lmao. I think Amen at least debunked some of the doubts about his passing not translating from OTE. His body and athleticism is also on par to compete with adults.

The more I think about it, the one thing that translates no matter what league you are in is vision and passing. LaMelo had great vision whether he was playing in some playground AAU league, high school or Aussie. That translates immediately to the NBA.

Fortunately his injury isn't that bad. 2-3 weeks in a boot. I hope he won't suffer like Tate did. FVV and KPJ are going to be the point guards.
No need to rush Amen back.

KPJ? I think KPJ being a point guard is over and he needs to focus on shooting, rebounding and defense. Amen is the backup point guard for this team. He still has a shooting problem and it’s better for someone like him to be on ball than off ball. Amen needs 22-25 minutes a game. His defense(rebounding, steal and shot blocking) is elite.

Once he ascends to the starting spot, and with the continued growth of Green and Smith, I fully expect the team to quickly return to contender status.

Man the whole core is amazing.

    Sengun
    Jabari
    Tari
    Green
    Amen

3 players with great wingspan and defensive motor, no one is undersized, two top tier athletes, ability to run offense from outside or inside.

Shooting and rim protection we need to improve significantly. It's great that Ben Sullivan is one of our top assistants and his background is shooting (under Chip). Spurs staff in general are great at developing shooters and I think Udoka is trying to mimic that structure here.

This is a special team. I think people will realize it later which makes sense because we're fresh out of tanking really badly for a few years.

It's fun to be able to be excited about our team at this point in the run-up to the season. A lot of fun. The potential is there. It's up to Ime and his staff to unlock it.

Shaedon Sharpe's situation was infinitely more questionable than the twins. Dude's last competition was high school, got hurt/sat out college and went pro. If nothing else, at least the Thompson's were active. I can't imagine trying to project Sharpe, putting in that ticket. Unbelievable gamble. At least there was SOMETHING to analyze with OTE.

Yeah, nobody really saw Sharpe play much against anybody after he reclassified, didn't play in college, and just showed up to be drafted. That dude was almost a mythological creature outside of his high school tape. With the Twins, you could see them playing in high school and against Euro League players, as well as know how hard they focused on basketball. They still had questions around them because they played for OTE, but even at OTE, they were playing against some good to very good high school talent. I always said I'd be scared to draft Sharpe because it seemed like he was trying to hide something (lol), but, while I was worried I'd be wrong about the Thompson Twins, I'd draft Amen #4.
