How many at catcher? And when he is at catcher, what percentage of those games are without Kessinger or Madris? Right now, it looks like Diaz is still in the Dusty doesn't think he can play his optimal position well doghouse, but is being played either because Yordan is out or Brown told Dusty to play Diaz.
And yet at the first hiccup, the usual people will chime in how they don’t trust him… it is what it is. As we’ve seen, no bullpen pitcher can truly be dominant at all times. And some succumb to the mental pressure of failure (or can’t get over failures) that ruins him. Pressly has been one of, if not the most, consistent high leverage pitchers in all of baseball. He’s that good.
No you want to finish the worst record of the wild cards so you can play the lowly Twins. And then on top of that the seedings don't reset. That team ends up playing the second best division record after beating the lowly Twins.
So please tell me there's some great significance to Diaz starting at catcher back to back games. And especially with the very early start today. Please. Yordan will be back soon and you could see Diaz wilt away on the bench if Dusty has his way with things.
Can't believe MLB didn't take another look at playoff seeding. The #1 seed in the AL is going to have to play a team with a better record than the 2 seed plays against since the 1 seed has to play the winner of the 4-5 (top 2 wild cards) matchup. Reseed MLB...how hard is this to figure out.
I agree that the Dusty hate and the lineup whining gets a little out of hand at times. And if they were on pace for 100+ wins with a healthy lead in the division again, I honestly wouldn't care. But with them struggling more this season, dealing with more injuries and really having to scrap their way to the postseason for the first time in a while, I think some criticism is fair. They don't have the luxury to just rest everyone and to let inferior players get 3-4 at-bats in a game right now. If Chas is healthy and he's not getting an off day after a ton of consecutive starts, there's zero reason he shouldn't be playing.

Man I hope so but I don't think so. Yordan has been out, so there is no else who really makes sense at the DH. I just have nighmares of Yordan coming back and Diaz playing 2x a week again. I hope you are right and I'm wrong, but man, you really think he's ready to move Maldy off catching all the time?
A clock is right twice a day. There was no reason for Chazzy Fizz to not being in the lineup today. He's locked in right now. Dusty needs to ride the wave.
Diaz could catch 4 games a week and DH 2 games a week while Maldy catches. Nah, that makes as much sense as sitting Chas today. Not happening.
I know what should happen, I know what could happen, but I have no idea what will happen. I'm just personally burned out on the Daily Dusty Lineup b****fest. I can't bring myself to get upset about it anymore. Oh, I'm aware. It would be nice if Diaz got useful at DH sometime soon.
Diaz would still DH some when Alvarez wants to warm up his legs. The issue is who plays centerfield during those games. Unfortunately, you know it won't be Chas with as dumb as Dusty is.
When everybody gets back healthy: 1B Abreu, Diaz 2B Altuve, Dubon SS Pena, Dubon 3B Bregman LF Alvarez, Julks CF McCormick, Meyers RF Tucker C Diaz, Maldonado DH Alvarez, Diaz, Dubon, Julks, Altuve, Meyers Alvarez 4 times a week in LF. Diaz 4 times a week at C. Alvarez and Diaz split the majority of the DH. Get Dubon, Julks, Meyers 2-3 starts a week each.

This won’t happen. What will happen though, is you being condescending again to seem smarter. It’s never worked. It is what it is
