Hope this ends the Shareef to the Rockets threads. For once I thank Danny Ainge! I wonder who they would trade to get Shareef? Raef La Frentz??
The Blazers are trying to clean up their image. NO WAY do they touch Ricky Davis. The Blazers want another 2 guard. Who do the Celtics have that they would be willing to move? Jiri Welch + a pick? I dont know.
Ainge is willing to move anybody. IMO, the only untouchables on his roster are Al Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins.
I have tons of respect for Ainge(he's my alma mater), but, if he trades Pierce for SARS, then he's certainly incapable of that GM job. He needs to come back to our school and be the coach.
The chance of the Rockets landing SAR even before this was minimal. Because the Rockets have NOTHING to trade for him. And his acquisition would've been great for the Rockets, if only because it means we'd get rid of a bunch of crappy contracts to match his huge salary.
Ricky Davis makes about half what SAR makes. But something like Davis to the Hornets Wesley, Stewart and Fox to the Blazers SAR to the Celtics would probably work... IMO, they will end up just buying Reef out, and then maybe we can get him over to Houston.
I dont think that is enough for the Blazers. Wesley is broken down and Fox is going to retire. But I think you are on the right track on trying to get a 3rd team involved in that deal.
Why would the Blazers give up a talent with an expiring contract for other teams' mistakes and/or problems? Ainge should keep his eye on the prize: MoT! Straight up for Raef.
