I think he can bring up the ball and make pick&roll ballhandling decisions much faster than Wood, if that's a consolation. As someone here said, he plays more like a forward than a C. But the terrible defense is definitely concerning.
Can't we just stick them both in a machine and combine their powers and bodies into 1? Then give him his new and improved name: Mo' Bol
Victor Oadipo didn't become an All-Star until his third team (ironically after leaving Orlando). Chauncey Billups was on his 5th team when he became an All-Star, All-NBA, All Defense, and Finals MVP. It took Kyle Lowery three tries to find a team where he blossomed into an All-Star. Likewise Lauri Markkanen was three teams in when he hit his All-Star stride. Zach Randolph had crossed the country four times before he became the Z-Bo we know. Jermaine O'Neal? Five years and two teams to crack a regular NBA rotation. Ben Wallace? Five years and three teams before becoming a Pistons legend. Even our own beloved Mario Elie was on his fourth NBA squad before he became the Mayor of Clutch City Not all teams are for all players and some players take a little longer to find their footing.
Terrible motor, doesn't pass, hunts for blocks instead of playing legit defense. Wouldn't be mad if he was brought in as a reclamation project, but he has a lot of maturing to do.
I dunno man. Ime = +10 wins FVV and Brooks = +10 wins Internal growth = +10 wins Bring in Bol Bol and we might flirt with 60 wins.
I think we should get him for insurance purposes. I also think that he can contribute right away. It’s just $2 million.
Bol Bol is better in my opinion. More skilled with the ball and shooting. Not as good a rebounder. I think Bo'ls game has continued to get better. He gets 15pt 9reb and 2 blocks per 36 mins. He's not very swtichy on defense but has long reach to make up ground and there are other defenses besides switch everything.
Inclusive with assist hunters and 3 point volume shooters and culture and leadership And stat keepers and role models And assistant coaches and team mascots And home court advantage and experience and calling a timeout to stop a run And HOFers and lesser role players...........
The infatuation between Bol Bol and Mo Bamba on this board never ceases to amaze me. This is what we need a 7'3 26% 3pt shooter thanks but no thanks.
The Idea of Mo Bamba and Bol Bol is intoxicating, 7+ foot dudes with super long arms with skills. The problem is that both aren't very good at basketball. Mo Bamba is the new age Shawn Bradley, a physical specimen with the a measurment ranked out the best in NBA history, will bounce from team to team thinking they can fix him or use him as a super role player.
