And one who can shoot from distance, something Capela certainly can't do. I saw this news while eating out at a good Mexican eatery with a view of their long bar that had a TV on sports at each end. My "Damn!" might have been a little loud. We still need a center, at least a good backup for Sengun. I'll be shocked if we find one who comes close to the combination of skills Lopez has. Probably a younger 5 with defense and no shot, or a guy who can shoot, but not a lot of defense. Still have the remaining cap room. That's a plus.
I believe it. Brook on this team would have helped quite a bit. A lot of flexibility line up wise due to his ability to shoot.
I was originally very frustrated with losing out on Lopez but with the news coming out it sounds like we were offering more and he just used us to push the Bucks close enough for him to accept. Basically, we never had a chance. Then, I started to think about the reason I ever wanted him. It was because he was uniquely an elite rim protector and a good 3 point shooter. He could play with any of our young guys. I was excited to see what Amen could do with the floor spread. But, if we're honest, these types of centers are extremely rare. Even if we got Brook and were successful, we wouldn't have a similar player to fill his role in a few years. It's not like the more common 3 and D wing. Our perimeter players will have to learn to generate offense without a center on 3pt line all the time. They won't have the luxury of barreling towards the rim every play like Giannis. Our frontcourt players will have to protect the rim.
Did anybody else think Brook Lopez may have signed with the Rockets had they added Harden instead of FVV?
Robin Lopez joining the Bucks we should've signed him first, might be the factor that changed Brook's mind
Robin, Thanasis - waiting on the news that Aaron Holiday is signed. Does Khris Middleton have a brother somewhere ?
Now I have an extra reason to root for the team the Bucks oppose (1) every night. (1) Unless that opposing team is the Lakers, GSW or any team from our division
Brook Lopez sitting at home with Robin Lopez ("seriously, bro, I'm just saving you from making a serious mistake") surrounded by Bucks players and management while Tilman Fertitta drives around looking for his ass. "Have you seen Brook Lopez? 'What does he look like'? Seriously? Google, show me Brook Lopez. He looks like that. Have you seen him?"
So... they signed Uncle Jeff, Landale before Lopez allegedly duffed them. Sengun definitely expected to get minutes too...4 centers? I wonder what the pivot move is now. Guard and forward both seem loaded up. Honestly center does too... -FVV, Green, Porter, Amen -Brooks, Smith, Eason, Tate, Whitmore -Sengun, Jeff, Landale
Nope, Lopez knows we were not going to win a championship this year he was coming for the money mostly. It’s hard to leave a team that you know can win another championship
