The biggest "takeaway" from this game (in your opinion) is Smith blowing the save?? Come on that pales in comparison to what's going on with Javier. He's not just struggling he's broken.
If they get two quality pitchers, regardless of their role, that is a freakin battalion. Urquidy will be back at some point. Hopefully Hunter/Javier will get some rest time (Hunter is also going to be fatigued soon). One actual legit AA/AAA guy will make his debut at some point, and then they can hopefully add a difference maker. 2017 Verlander was a great boost... but that team still had the last all-star version of Keuchel, LMJ, and Morton.... and still needed more arms to sustain some of those playoff series.
Will Smith is about the statistically 8th best relief pitcher in MLB this season. It was stupid of us not to bring him back for cheap.
I blame the WBC practice games for our pitching troubles. Urquidy, Garcia, hurt. Javier fatigued ??(hopefully not hurt). No Astros on a contending version of our team should ever play in that exhibition again.
