    Contract on Grant Williams:

Scenario #1: Boston agrees to a SnT

Tate and a 2nd to Boston

Grant signed to a 4 year $70M deal, declining salary, team option 4th year

    Comp structure: 19/18/17.1/16.2

    Scenario #2: No SnT

    Tate traded to 3rd team

Contract to Grant: 3 years, $66 million, ascending salary, 15% trade kicker

    Comp Structure: 21/22/23

Heads need to role if they don’t do anything with that room. Mills would’ve been a fine vet and expiring.

I tend to think they are negotiating a SnT with Boston on Grant Williams.

Why not wait till the trade deadline and see what we got with this team....it is not like we are winning a lot more.

I admit I have never heard of the cap floor being penalized yet.

I hear you, but the time to make that decision was before they forwarded Mills on to OKC.

If they come away with nothing here, it’s just another failure stacked on top of the other failures connected with these recent moves.

If we somehow got Grant Williams + Al Horford for KPJ + Tate this offseason would instantly go from below average to very good.

We need a backup center and Landale is not it. If the Clippers wanted Martin so bad we should asked for Zubac for Martin. We would have made Zubac our backup center. He has size, experience and interior presence that would help our defense. Clippers are trying to get rid of Zubac because of salary reasons.

Al Horford is like 80 years old. Bad trade.

Still productive on both ends, and isn't a liability on defense, unlike KPJ

There is no way Boston lets both Al Horford and Grant Williams walk. That would decimate their front court depth.

I think we could pry one away. My preference would be Al Horford, but he’s not the free agent.

Zubac is their 3rd best player and only big man. I don't think that team can even function without Zubac.

It's possible his defense might be underwhelming, in which case the meritocracy rule should apply to the verts too. Green/Tari... even KPJ / Whitmore / Tate to take their shot at SF/ backup SG spot.

Grant is 24. He's been in the league for four seasons, every year played in the playoffs. If he ends up blossoming here, he can be part of the future core. Might even be the surprise, who saves Stone's job.

When he was playing against Miami, it was as if Miami had 6 players and Celtics had 4. Suicidal.
