There's no chance that analytics had ANYTHING to do with picking up this scrub. This is one of those old school "he's got that dog in him" type BS.

That's a massive insult to P Bev, who while an unremarkable offensive player, could knock down open shots and didn't try to take over the offense unwarranted.

my question is why 4 years?
4 years gonna run out Tari and Whitmore's rookie contracts.
i hope this signing not to hurt Tari and Cam's development and re-signing

I was only comparing them when it comes to the style of defense they play, Beverley is clearly A LOT better than Brooks.

I would only guess that they think the contract will be valuable and tradable in years 3 and 4.

    Play defense.

    Already infinitely better than KPJ.

EDIT: I don't like the four years guaranteed whatsoever.

I did however want Tilman to give full control to Udoka and try and build an ecosystem here. So I'll at least hold out until I can see the on-court performance.

I already had to live with a lunatic who didn't try in KPJ. I think I can handle a lunatic who'll never stop trying.

If for nothing else, at least the rest of the players will be getting some pressure put on them n their practices now.

Based on this deal i would say yes. How would you feel if they gave someone like cam reddish 4/80? Would you just blindly trust?

Yeah, it was just one gigantic, unbroken, feces.

Impressive in some ways, but not something you really want to see.

Max annual decrease is 5% of the starting salary. That would put an $80M at the following:

    $21.62M
    $20.54M
    $19.46M
    $18.38M

Um, how I feel about some hypothetical doesn't matter. I like the changes they've made and I think our GM/coach know exactly what they're doing.

    Huh?

Didn't Stone just trade half of the draft picks he picked in the first round over the past couple of years?

weren't people saying this garbage to justify the Ryan Anderson contract back in the day?

(Who BTW was a far superior player)

Russell Westbrook has more MVPs and more Finals and Conference Finals apperances than Chris Paul in 2019, did that make it a good idea to swap them with 4 firsts headed OKC's way?

You don’t get anything for being voted. People vote based on all sorts of stuff, it doesn’t mean there’s any merit. Marcus smart won dpoy just 1 year ago……

I have to assume Stone and Udoka outsmarted themselves, thought "we can fix this guy" and the contract would look real good in a couple years with Dillon only taking open threes and cutting to the basket. Dreaming on 12 points at 42/35/80 shooting with elite defense. Dillon could be that guy if he could get himself together and any team would love to have that kind of roleplayer on the wing.

But that's not the reality of who Brooks is. It's hard to change a guy's character, especially when he's 27 and already has a big bag. To get that kind of production out of him, Ime is going to have to be a miracle worker.

For a good coach to be valuable, players have to want to be coached, and I'm pretty convinced Brooks doesn't care what anybody says.
