Bought the Pinnacle Studio av/dv 9 card and software from an online store in the US it's a great package, some more details here http://www.pinnaclesys.com/docloade...ct_ID=2050&Langue_ID=10&loc=spec&division_id= it was listed as the PAL version and i even emailed them to confirm and they said sure it is get it and install the software and it is NTSC... damn i am so mad anyone interested in buying it off me, basically new I paid $95 and will accept any reasonable offers anyone
i would think so, there description on the site still says PAL and they even replied with an email to say it was PAL here is the page here, under input formats about 2 thirds of the way down the page... it says PAL/SECAM i open the box and installed the software... will that still work, when i emailed about sending it back they said it has to be unopened and in mint condtion what do you guys think??
Do you still have the email from them. If so send them a copy of that with a copy of the add saying it is PAL. Tell them the copy of the software you received was NTSC. There is an off chance that they shipped the wrong item. If they say the item is correct call them on the false advertising.
when i got the wrong version, i replied to them with the email they sent saying it was pal, they replied saying they do not stock the pal version.... so how does one, call them on false advertising?? ie in essence i just want a full refund
yeah, get up on there backs about this, I would contact the BBB about this and make sure they do something
Is this a hardware or software issue? I mean if its software issue you can surely just get or download it to be able to use either NTSC or PAL.
I thought it supposed to support NTSC and PAL. I think all you need to do is set it to PAL. I mean I have a TV Turner card but it's the softwares that decide if you want it in PAL or NTSC.
I pretty sure it support both NTSC and PAL. Anyway you can call in for support or email in. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?j=1&id=1072287783836&type=product&ref=03&loc=01 It say that it support both. It's just softwares and I'm pretty sure. I've check and there isn';t a PAL or NTSC hardware version but just one hardware version of the Pinnacle Systems Studio AV/DV Version 9 for the PC.
Software specifications: Input formats: Capture from DV, Digital8 and MicroMV camcorders or VCRs Capture from analogue camcorders (8 Millimetre, VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C and SVHS-C, Hi8) or VCRs (PAL/SECAM). Capture directly from DV & Digital8 camcorders to DVD quality MPEG-2 120 MB of disk space for every 20 minutes of DV video captured at preview quality (4 GB for every 20 minutes of finished movie). It say Software specifications.
this is from the Support Knowledge base on the pinnacle site Question Where can I get the PAL version of my Pinnacle Product? Answer Warning : Pinnacle products sold in USA are generally NTSC only. Pinnacle products sold in Europe are generally PAL and NTSC (and sometimes SECAM). If you buy your product in USA or from a US Internet retailer and you want to use it in Europe, be sure that the product is the European version. If you bought a US product (NTSC only), you will have to get an exchange or money back from your dealer. Pinnacle Europe is not able actually to do an exchange. any ideas daNasty or anyone
the interactive knowledge base and user forums can be found off here http://www.pinnaclesys.com/docsuppo...01&product_name=Studio version 9 &page_id=81# one other thing i thought of.. i know someone else you has the card and it is pal, could i re-install their software???
What you bought was both software and hardware, right? I wonder which the above is talking about. I have a TV Tuner card (that is PAL and NTSC compatible) and I'm downloading the trial Pinnacle software...but they have a rather slow connection (35 kb/s) it's going to take about an hour and a half. I'll see what the software says.
Alright, I downloaded the trial. Installed it and I was able to capture in both NTSC and PAL (in addition to SECAM). The link following has a screenshot of the software was I was able to change that configuiration: http://www.chad.cc/rockets/p_screen1.jpg To get to that screen select "Capture" tab at the top ad then the "Settings" button on the bottom. If you only view NTSC I'm guessing that its your capture card.
