FVV for 3 years, $129M. Yes or no?

  1. Yes, go for it, he's the veteran leader we need.

I hate the third year. I was very happy with the proposed 2 year deal - we would overpay him to be a mentor Robbie rookies and help install a winning culture while keeping cap space for a max player in 2025 FA, when the rookie extensions also kick in. Now we lost a lot of flexibility. I also don’t think, that his contract is very tradesble. Other than the length I really like adding him to our team.

If the Rockets sign Brook Lopez, he’s the starting center with Sengun and Smith competing for the starting power forward spot. Lopez isn’t leaving Milwaukee for a bench role.

Voted no, but talking myself somewhat into it. Still need to see how the off season unfolds....do we consolidate some assets into a trade? ...who else do we sign?

It's a big overpay, but also feels like we underestimated what it would take to get good FAs to come over here. We knew we were going to have to overpay, but actually seeing the cost is another. FVV is a good player, no doubt, just not worth the contract we gave him.

Amen > Nix as a backup guard. There are a lot of different small improvements that hopefully add up to something.

They naturally will, Amen is a big point with defense and passing.... The kid is humble but hungry, Amen I still believe will have a big rookie season. KPJ moves back to his natural position where he actually isn't bad. Right before the point guard experiment he was actually a bright sport for The Rockets with Harden gone, he was looking like we landed on something special. Either way KPJ turns into a good tradable asset for whatever Udoka feels goes better for the team. I want Lopez but the most important thing was done today, landing a good a point guard. The rest can almost take care of itself.

That's fine, because now The Rockets are starting to finally look somewhat deep.... Sengun and Jabari alternating at forward with a defensive anchor at center and FVV with Green and KPJ could be much better than anyone thinks they will be...

Its like dumb people don't know what tanking and rebuilding is.... Rockets have an insane amount of young talent, it only took them 3 years and the FVV signing was a legit acquisition to jump start the team and start winning. A couple of seasons ago we had no idea when we would have an all star/border line all star player again and looking forward to some w's.... Its happening!!!!

I have no problem with it, either. It’s time for the Rockets to start winning games, and the young players should have to earn their minutes with their play.
